Tom Willman he/him

Tom is currently a Ph.D. student in the Clinical and Counselling Psychology program at the University of Toronto. He completed his Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Tom was born and raised on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples in White Rock, British
Columbia. He is a proud Métis Nation of British Columbia citizen, with paternal Métis ancestry from Saint-Boniface, Manitoba, and maternal family roots on the West Coast of B.C.

Training and Approach: Tom has over six years of experience working in social services, supporting Indigenous communities across Metro Vancouver. He has also gained clinical experience in an Indigenous-focused clinic, where he refined his use of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) in supporting clients navigating trauma, identity, and relational concerns. Tom takes an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy, tailoring his work to meet the unique needs of each client. His practice is grounded in person-centered, trauma-informed, and emotion-focused approaches. In his clinical work, he draws on evidence-based modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Tom is committed to creating a respectful, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental space.
